It’s well acknowledged that when kids cultivate decent reading skills early on, they are much more likely to be superior learners and better educated.  Reading is the base for success for all other subject material and the level of accomplishment throughout life for the kid. 

Learning to read isn’t a simple task for a child.  This is why it is so important that you as the father is a model for reading and work with and inspire your child to read each day. 

As a parent or homeschooling parent, you must help insure that your youngster develops necessary talents related to reading such as :

Use of speech and vocabulary. 

Having your kid reply after listening to stories read short paragraphs and have your child tell you about what they just heard.  Learn and know the alphabet and letters use day by day items around your place to use as examples.  For example, cut out giant letters and have your youngster find items around the house that start with that letter and stick the letter to them.  Work with your kid to attach the sound the letters make to the oral language.  Read and read frequently to your youngster so they know that reading is a every day activity.  Work every day with your kid to add an additional word to their word list.  Discuss with your child what was just read.  This helps you scrutinize their level of understanding.  Phonics learning can help.

These abilities are vital for the pre-first grade level reader.  After you kid gets to the 1st grade level the focus becomes building on these abilities that the will set the scene for the child essentially for the rest of their lives.  As a parent it’s not enough to simply incorporate these skills into your youngster’s daily activities, you keep your fingers on the heart beat of your child’s progress and understanding.  At this early age, it’s vital to get the reading journey off on the right foot. 

At its simplest form, reading is a skill.  Just like any other skill, it requires practice to become proficient at it.  In fact, reading is such an important talent it takes more practice than a kid will receive if they attend a standard college.  As a parent you want to enlarge the faculty’s reading program with daily reading time at home.  If you are homeschooling, make reading a daily top concern type of activity. 

Introduce your kid to your local library as soon as you can.  Get them signed up for summer reading programs.  Set aside an area in your house where your youngster can have and develop a library all their own.  Put their fave chair in their library or where they like to read and have you read to them. 

Reading truly is elemental to education and successes.  Without good reading skills, much of life will possibly always be a struggle.  Build a sound and firm foundation for your kid by ensuring early on that you help establish a love of reading in your kid and success will follow.
